Owned by members of New Orleans’s own Brennan family, Commander’s Palace in the Garden District has a reputation as an old-world fine dining establishment.   This is not a shorts and t-shirt kind of place and jackets are preferred at dinner. Commander’s Palace strives to provide meals made from ingredients produced within 100 miles of the restaurant.  Their menus include local favorites such as turtle soup, creole gumbo and creole bread pudding soufflé. Try one of the two course lunches and $0.25 martinis.
