A must in New Orleans is a meal at Antoine’s. This is a class act establishment in the heart of the Quarter. The setting is old world and elegant. The service is outstanding and the food is a testament to why Antoine’s has remained one of the city’s top restaurants for nearly 180 years. It’s a local favorite, the birthplace of Oysters Rockefeller, and still serves some of the best French Creole cuisine. It’s an excellent place for lunch…with the option of ordering $0.25 martinis. But, pace yourself. These refreshing beverages are potent. Ask your server for a tour of the restaurant. You’ll see a few of the 14 dining rooms, as well as a bit of New Orleans history from a former prison cell to a doorway leading to a Prohibition era tunnel.
