A Tuesday evening at Bullets, in the 7th Ward, is like no other. It may even be the time of your life and the highlight of your stay in New Orleans. The place is scruffy on the outside and the neighborhood looks a bit tough (we recommend taking a taxi to and from – this is not a touristy location), but don’t let that fool you. The hospitality is beyond compare. If you’re hungry, consider something from the guys grilling out front. Music, every Tuesday night, is by Kermit Ruffins and his band. Kermit shares the stage with some talented musicians and singers. The locals get here early and the place is usually filled to bursting, yet there still seems to be space enough for dancing. We paid a $5 cover to see Kermit. Bring cash; Bullets doesn’t take credit cards. Be sure to provide your taxi driver with the address – not everyone knows where Bullets is located and the bar has no phone, but that’s another story. Bullets is located at 2441 A P Tureaud Ave.
